  1. I also really liked this book! I really like how the author writes; she does a beautiful job of describing things, it is like poetry. Kathy, have you seen the movie? I thought it was fine, but did not live up to the book.

  2. No, I haven't seen the movie. Julie, who told me about the author, didn't think much of the movie either. Seems like it would be difficult to make a good movie out of this type of book. Kathy

  3. Just read THE INVENTION OF WINGS, also by this author. Aside from the fact that all of her books take place in the south, they are very different. This book is based on real people and reflects the attitudes and history of the 1800's. Very good.
